Voltage Regulator

The voltage regulator is a 7805 that delivers 5 volts to the NE602's. The upper voltage limit of the NE602's is 6.2 volts.

The power supply for the receiver does not need to be regulated. Twelve (12) volts is used only for the audio amplifier.

A wall plug-in power supply with a rating of one amp can be used for the receiver. Actual current used by the receiver runs approximately 350ma at full audio volume.

Some wall warts do not have good filtering, so if there is hum in the audio output, try a better power supply or a better quality wall wart.

For lower power drain, an LM386 audio amplifier could be built on the prototype section, substituting for the TDA2002, using one of the 8 pin layouts.
